Camp Kenan Day Camp

Camp Kenan also offers a unique setting for the child who is not quite ready to attend overnight camp. Campers 6 to 12 years old are eligible to attend. Day-Campers participate in a wide array of age-appropriate outdoor activities including: sand volleyball, basketball, hockey, crafts, soccer, swimming, canoeing, archery, bouldering, campfires and much, much more. The Day Camp fee includes a hot lunch and snack served daily. Every Wednesday is theme day, and every other Wednesday is the optional Day Camp Sleepover. This gives campers a taste of what overnight camp is like.

Day camp is housed in the Cowdrick Memorial Pavilion, which overlooks Lake Ontario.

The program runs Monday through Friday from 9 to 4:30 p.m. For an additional fee, parents may drop their children off at camp between 7 and 9 a.m. or pick their child up late between 4:30 and 6:00 p.m. A bus is available daily departing from the Lockport YMCA at 8:30 a.m. and returns by 5 p.m.

All Day Camp staff members have participated in extensive training prior to camp and voluntarily submit to thorough background and reference checks before employment. Day camp runs for 10 weeks beginning June 25th and concluding August 31st.

** To register your child for Day Camp, apply in person at the Lockport Family YMCA, 19 East Avenue, Lockport, NY. Spots are limited.

** Cost: $100 for Lockport YMCA Members and $175 for Non-Members

** Bus Cost: $40 a week ($5 deposit due at registration)

** Early Arrival or Late Pick Up: $10 ($2 deposit due at registration)
