 | Camp Kenan Employment
Employment at Camp Kenan is a rewarding opportunity and a great seasonal job option for high school and college students ages 17 and up. While applicants are not employed based on their high school or college major, Camp Kenan is an ideal resume builder for folks with an interest in education or recreation.
CURRENT OPEN POSITIONS INCLUDE:
CAMP NURSE – Must have valid Registered Nurse Certifications. Previous experience working with children is a plus, but not required. Responsible for administering basic first aid when necessary and making sure children are receiving their medications as prescribed by doctor. Camp Nurse must live on camp property for time while hired. Hiring is on a weekly basis, but Nurses may work more than one week if desired. Apartment style housing is provided.
OUTDOOR EDUCATION/ARCHERY DIRECTOR - Must be knowledgeable in Archery equipment and terminology as well as able to instruct and teach youth how to safely participate in such activites. (Certification preferred.) In addition, must be able to provdie a hands-on, interactive outdoor experience to campers at Camp Kenan. Must have knowledge of local plant and animal life, and be able to construct a fun, educational program to which campers will benfeit.
DAY CAMP AND RESIDENT CAMP COUNSELORS – Ideal candidates show strong leadership skills, have prior experience working with children, show respect and care for others, and have a positive attitude.
WATERFRONT/POOL DIRECTORS – Supervisor for all activities involving on-site pool or Lake Ontario Waterfront. Lifeguard certifications and experience required for both. Waterfront Lifeguarding Certification needed for waterfront director. Canoeing/Kayaking experience a plus for waterfront as well. Both positions report to overall Aquatics Director. Must be 18 or older.
LIFEGUARDS - Must be over age 16 and have valid certifications. (American Red Cross, YMCA, or equivalent)
